Age-appropriate Pedagogy

Erste Hilfe Kurs

Pedagogical focus

KUBUKI is oriented towards the needs of the children and supports holistic living and learning. The concept for this educational institution is based on many years of experience with Montessori education and the language concept of the immersion principle. The goal of our pedagogical work is to support a comprehensive development of the talents and skills inherent in every person.

We want to create space for the development of the personality as a free self by training the thinking, feeling and willpower as well as promoting creative and social skills. Maintaining the joy of learning and living, preserving world interest, the free will to learn and researching behavior is the focus of our work.

Our goals are to help young children to develop into

  • autonomous and authentic
  • watchful and sensitive
  • lively and creative
  • criticizable
  • responsible
  • powerful
  • confident

people

Through the mixed-age group and the cooperation with the kindergarten and the teaching team, we create the framework to learn different areas of competence. In addition to the Kubuki kindergarten concept, bilingual after-school care is offered.
Our teachers speak to the children in their mother tongue. The children learn in a natural way according to the immersion principle to immerse themselves in the German and English language and to speak them actively.

Learning support

We offer useful homework support, but do not assume any responsibility for the daily completeness and correctness of all school work. However, we make children aware of incorrect and incomplete things and motivate them to work independently. During the learning support we pay attention to a calm working atmosphere so that the children can concentrate on doing their homework. We value independence and personal responsibility for a suitable job and the necessary work materials. The younger children learn from the older ones, who can pass on and deepen their acquired knowledge.

Free play and controlled leisure

In free play, the children can make their own contacts and deal freely with people, materials and time. The children can be occupied depending on their interests. You can choose from the offers of the teachers (creative offers, theater, and much more) or implement your own ideas. We have room for play, friendships and new things to learn ourselves and with the help of our experts. Since the after-school children are particularly keen to move, they can use the outdoor area at any time. If necessary, the child can also rest, withdraw, read books, listen to audio stories. Working on projects is an important group focus. This is offered in the overall group and developed as part of a guided activity. The handicraft activities are about getting to know different materials and appreciative use of resources. Our day care center is run as an "open day care center" so that the children can move freely in all rooms. The educators are contact persons for all children.
Furthermore, the "Crafthouse in the Afternoon" is available to the children with numerous artistic offers.

Intrinsic motivation

"Learning is experience, everything else is just information"
(Albert Einstein)
Healthy curiosity is the key drive to want to know more and is therefore an essential prerequisite for effective teaching. Curiosity arises when you don't know what to expect, how a situation will develop. KUBUKIS teaching methods are based on the knowledge of intrinsic motivation. The children have the opportunity to gain experience, make their own decisions and take responsibility for their actions.
